Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference.
