Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. Later in the year, her music was played throughout Dreamville. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track she performed with Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on Oct 21, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening act. In 2018, she appeared on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was released on September 5th. On November 9 the singer released two new singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on November 13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole on The Creed II sound track on November 16. The song, launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than three million times over the first seven days. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
